今回は2024年3月に卒業をした日本人留学生Basaへの卒業前インタビューを掲載します。

Basaは４週間の留学で、ネイティブESLコースを受講しました。ネイティブESLコースでは主に発音やスピーキングをネイティブ講師から学べると、日本人に特に人気のコースです。ネイティブ講師のマンツーマンレッスンを毎日1コマ週５回受けることができるほか、残りの5コマは訓練を受けたフィリピン人講師とのマンツーマンレッスンがあり、ボキャブラリー、文法、リスニング、ライティングなどを学びます。自由選択のナイトグループクラスでもネイティブ講師のレッスンがあるので、フィリピンにいながらネイティブの表現を習得することができます。

自己紹介をお願いします。
Kindly introduce yourself.

私の名前はBasaです。20才の大学生です。
My English name is Basa, and I’m 20 years old. I am a Uni student.

なぜ、バギオシティーを留学に選びましたか？
Why did you choose Baguio City to study English?

フィリピンで留学を考えていた時に、バギオはフィリピンの中で1番安全だと聞きました。また、気候がとても過ごしやすいというのも選んだ理由です。
I was thinking about studying abroad in the Philippines, and I chose Baguio because I heard that Baguio is the safest place in the Philippines. The other reason is that the climate is very good.

実際に過ごしてみてバギオについてどう思いますか？
What do you think about Baguio?

バギオは買い物するのにとても便利な場所です。日用品を購入するのに何も問題がありませんでした。
Baguio is so convenient for shopping. There are no problems with shopping, such as buying daily necessities, because Baguio is flourishing in this field.

どうやってA&Jアカデミーを見つけましたか？学校についてどのように言われていましたか？
How did you find A&J Academy? What are the things mentioned about the school?

インターネットで「留学_バギオ」と調べて、A&Jアカデミーを見つけることができました。いくつかのホームページでワーキングホリデーコースだけではなく、ネイティブコースについても書かれていたので興味を持ちました。
When I searched for “Study abroad, Baguio City” on the internet, I  was able to find A&J academy. Not only Working Holiday course was mentioned on some home pages , but also Native course, so I became interested.

 

なぜ、A&Jアカデミーへの入学を決めましたか？
Why did you choose to study in A&J Academy?

日本人比率が低いことと、小さい学校ということだったので、A&Jアカデミーを選びました。また、フィリピン人講師とネイティブ講師のマンツーマンクラスを提供しているということも魅力に感じました。
I chose this school because it seemed to have fewer Japanese than other schools and because it is a small school. In addition to this, it is attractive that Filipino and Native teachers administer one on one classes.

A&Jアカデミーでの思い出を教えてください。
What are your memories in A&J academy?

最初の週は留学に慣れるのに大変でした。日本と異なる環境に身を置くことによって自分が変化に対応することはとても大切だと気づいたのがA&Jアカデミーでの思い出です。別の国籍の親切なスクールメイトと触れ合えたこともとても印象深い経験となりました。この学校に来るまで、友達ができるか不安でしたが、国籍関係なくスクールメイトと仲良くなることができました。
The first week was hard to get used to. It is in my memory that I realized that it was important to adjust to change by putting myself in a different environment. Having kind schoolmates from different nations is also worth noting. Before coming here, I am doubtful if I can make friends, but I hit it off with my schoolmates regardless of their nationality.

 

A&Jアカデミーの先生はどうでしたか？
What can you say about the teachers of A&J academy?

A&Jにはフレンドリーで親切な先生が多いと感じます。また、先生と生徒の関係も良好で、お互いを尊重しています。また、先生は生徒の意見を尊重してくれるので、自分の授業の内容で変更したいところを指導してもらうことができました。
I feel that A&J has many friendly teachers, and that there are many kind people. Also, teacher-student relationship is great, we respect each other. In addition, teachers honor students’ opinions, so I was able to get guidance on what I wanted to modify for my classes.

Can you give some comments about A&J academy?

A&Jアカデミーはとてもよい学校でした。僕は大勢の人が苦手なので、少人数のA&Jアカデミーを選んで正解だったと思っています。A&Jアカデミーは生徒のニーズに合った教材を提供してくれたり、生徒の要望を総合的に考えてくれる学校です。
A&J is a good school. Since I don’t like a large number of people, I feel that I was right to choose A&J. Besides, the institution provides materials suited to the needs of students and considers their request holistically.
